This is a translation of our German „Cookie-Richtlinie“ provided for your convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, the German version prevails.
What Are Cookies?
To make visiting our website appealing and to enable certain functions, we use cookies – small text files stored on your device. Some of these cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser (so-called „session cookies“); others remain on your device for longer and allow us to store your settings (so-called „persistent cookies“).
Legal Bases
Storing information on your device and accessing information already stored there are governed by § 25 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act). Strictly necessary cookies fall under the exemption in § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG; all other cookies are set only with your consent pursuant to § 25 (1) TDDDG.
Where cookies additionally involve the processing of personal data, this is done – depending on the purpose – pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR to perform the user relationship, pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR on the basis of your consent, or pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR to safeguard our legitimate interests in the secure and functional operation of the website.
Which Cookies Do We Use?
Necessary Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of the website and are set without consent (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). They cannot be disabled.
- sessionid – Associates your requests with a session: login status, basket-like states, and counting the daily try-on quota for visitors who are not logged in. The quota count itself is reset server-side per calendar day; the 14-day storage period relates solely to recognising the session. Storage period: 14 days.
- csrftoken – Security cookie protecting forms and AJAX requests against cross-site request forgery attacks. Storage period: 1 year.
- cookie_consent – Stores your selection in the cookie banner (categories and timestamp) so that you are not asked again on every page view and so that we can demonstrate your consent. Storage period: 1 year.
- lang – Stores the language you have selected (German/English). Storage period: 1 year.
Analytics
This category becomes active only if you have given your consent pursuant to § 25 (1) TDDDG and Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. Without consent the script below is not loaded; a script already loaded is removed if you withdraw consent.
- TelemetryDeck – privacy-friendly analytics service provided by TelemetryDeck GmbH, Jahnstraße 2, 85049 Ingolstadt, Germany. TelemetryDeck sets no cookies and stores no identifiers on your device. It evaluates pseudonymised or anonymised signals (including the page visited, approximate region of origin, browser and device type). Processing takes place on servers within the EU. We nevertheless obtain your consent for this service as a precaution.
Marketing
As at the last update of this policy, we set no marketing or advertising cookies on our own website and integrate no advertising networks. The category remains in the consent tool because we use affiliate links to partner shops.
When you follow a product link to a partner shop, you leave our website. Only there can our affiliate networks – Admitad GmbH (Neckarsulm), AWIN AG (Berlin), Conversant Europe Limited / CJ Affiliate (London), Rakuten Marketing France SAS (Paris) and Tradedoubler GmbH (Munich) – set cookies or comparable technologies for performance measurement and commission accounting. We are not responsible under data protection law for this processing on partner sites; consent is obtained there via the partner's own consent tool and can also be withdrawn there.
Third-Party Connections Without Cookies
The fonts, icon and JavaScript libraries and the CSS framework used on our website are hosted by us (self-hosting). No data is transmitted to third parties in this process.
When you open individual pages, only the following third-party resource is loaded, without us setting a cookie. Technically unavoidably, your IP address as well as browser and device information are transmitted to the provider:
- hCaptcha (Intuition Machines, Inc., San Francisco, USA) – spam protection in contact, feedback and newsletter forms. Loaded only on pages containing such a form.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in preventing automated abuse). Further details on recipients and third-country transfers can be found in our Privacy Policy.
Managing and Withdrawing Your Consent
You can change your selection at any time via the „Cookie settings“ link in the footer of our website. A withdrawal takes effect for the future and does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out up to that point.
You can also configure your browser to inform you when cookies are set, to decide on their acceptance individually, or to exclude their acceptance generally. Please note that if necessary cookies are not accepted, the functionality of our website may be limited.
